OUR STORY

Built on Trust. Driven by Quality.

Gearbox Auto was founded by Carlos Medina, a lifelong mechanic who worked at dealerships before realizing there had to be a better way. He saw customers overcharged, undertold, and treated like numbers. So he opened his own shop with one rule: treat every car like it belongs to a friend.

That philosophy hasn't changed. Today, our team of experienced technicians serves Portland drivers and their families. We'd rather earn your next visit than sell you a repair you don't need. We're not a franchise. We don't have corporate quotas. We have neighbors who trust us with their cars, and we take that seriously every single day.
